I would like some feedback from you other Mopar guys on which route to take on rebuilding my 426 street wedge engine. It is now at .040 on the pistons and instead of sleeving this thing right now I'd like to use a set of .060 over 440 pistons. I know the rods are the same, but can I use a set of 0.60 pistons in the 426? I understand already that the bore is different between the 426 and 440. Is there enough block to go ahead and bore to the 440 specs and still go the 0.60 over??? I believe there is but want to get some advice.
Thanks Guys, Lyle |

The 426 has a bore of 4.25". The 440 has a bore of 4.32. In order to do what your talking about, the 426 would have to be overbored .130". I don't think that's going to work for you.
