guys, my question has to do with changing gears in a rear end. my originals are 2.22:1. I am going to a 3.55:1. am I right that to find the new correct speed is you divide 3.55 by 2.22, and then multiply by what your speedo is reading? for instance, to be going 55 m.p.h., you would have to be showing appr. 88 m.p.h? thanks in advance for any help!

odds are you have a 2.26 rear end. Anyway the conversion is 1.57. So 55 would read 86 on the speedometer. What you can do is get a speedometer pinion with 1.57 time more tetth on it. So if your current pinion has, say, 25 teeth, you'd need one with 39 teeth to correct it. Shouldn't be too hard for the dealer to order the pinion and the cost is minimal, especially compared to a ticket.
