Default is this a good class D amp??

im thinking of geting a Sony ES XM-6001GXD class D amp.
its ratings are:

300 X 1 RMS 4 ohms
600 X 1 RMS 2 ohms
1000 X @ 1 ohm

also its 1 ohm stable
class D circuity (runs cooler??)
50-300hz low pass filter
0-10 bass boost at 40 hz
0-180 degree phase adjustment
2 year warrenty
price $299.99

is this a good amp for the money?
i want a good solid amp that puts out some great power, and by the numbers this is a good one. But i was wonderng if anyopne has any experience with sony amps. espessially the ES class D amps.
thanks

If its still like the old one. When it came out sometime last year I believe then I wouldnt get it. I didnt like how it sounded. Me and my friends tried it with all diff kinds of subs. The ones we all like was Rockford amps or MTX. But everyone like something else. If your buying it from the store u got 30days to return it so give it a try if u want 2.

I just dont like Sony car products. U know the sony explods well yea they explod alright.

Just me though.

Thanks

yeah i wanted to get a RF too but they are a lot more expensive! 500$ for the 500BD that only pts out 250 x 1 @ 4 ohms, and 500 x 1 @ 2ohms.

so that 200 moredollars for an amp that makes less power then the sony does. at least that what the numbers say.

i am also considering getting a 1100D driected amp. they retail for 1200, but i have a friend who might hook me up for 450.

but that is a long shot so, is the sony gonna satisfy me if i like loud dep bass, with say 1 or 2, 15s?

sony didnt compare to the fosgate i have I have the 500.2 power. Its way deepier. The sony it was like 2 many watts. And its false its not a 1000watts. I was talkin with the guy I forgot how many watts he said it was its only 100watss at 1 ohm must people do 4 ohm. I guess the amps can do thjat but they can handle it for so long. I had mine at 2 ohm and it would over heat in about 15 mins. at 4ohms i can play all day and night its deep 2. Just like what I said before it depends on what your looking for. I mean if you really like it then go for it. Where are you buying it from Best Buy????...........If you a re remember you got 30 days. Return it if it dont sasify you.

well, i was going to get the amp from cruthfield. But i want a good amp, not an overrated one that just plain sucks.
What i want from my system is the capability of being very loud and going very deep!

i am deffinatly going to get a class D amp, for sure! but as far as brands go its pretty much a toss up.

im am liking, a RF amp or a audio bahn amp, i know for a fact both of these are great amps that are underrated if anything. so thats a very goodthing.

the top of the line cLass d amps from these 2 companies are listed as $999.99. thats much more then i want to spend but i likethe power they offer and the warrenty on the RF is 3yrs, the AB is only 1yr so i dont know.

as far a speakers go, im definatly geting 15s. prbably 2 of the RF Punch HX2 15s with the DVC.

Hey. Let me know the amps u want. I can get them through my friend for a good price. He sells car audio. Hes a wholesaler. So just tell me the model number(s). And I'll call him and get some prices for you. Then u can order it through him if you want. In fact ill tell him im buying it so I will be a little less. I wish He was doing this last summer. I would of had a bad ass system. But im still happy what I got. But would of had 500$ more in my pocket though but later this summer im going to buy a new one.

thanks,

Brandon

Have you thought about the MTX class D amps? I have an MTX 500D that puts out in the range of 750 watts @ 4 ohms. They also have a 750D that is probably close to 1000watts. MTX tends to under rate thier amps, but provides a test sheet of what the amp is actually putting out, with true RMS, etc.
