Angry Starter help???

i have a 72 duster 440, and i recently installed some msd stuff, a new flywheel and some other stuff, (thats another post in its self) i anm using the mopar mini starter, i bought it brand new, not too long ago, after intsallting the stuff, the starter cranked the motor over fine, but a couple days ago i tryed starting it again, and the starter just made the noise like just the motor was moving, so i figured that the solenoid was bad, i took the starter out and bench tested it and the solenoid is working, pushing the gear out and turning, it, so i reinstalled the starter and its is still not working, i took of the inspection plate and the starter gear is being pushed to the TQ, but its not turning, the motor turns over at the front with a wrench, any suggestions,
thanks, joe

Sound like it needs a starter.

Must have a winding that's gone bad.

If the solenoid is engauging but it doesn't turn, there aren't a lot of other choices. (other being a seized engine, but you've already said it turns easy.

Double check the main ground wire before you yank the starter out again.

you said you installed a new flywheel...are the teeth on both actaully making contact? if it sounds like its turning, and it works on the bench, thats the only thing i could think of...

maybe its burnt up... it could spin easily on the bench, but it might now have the power any more to turn the motor. the windings could be fried. i've done that many times....i have a semi-truck battery in my car that produces 1,132 cranking amps @ 32* F...
