Gripe question for all...including ABALTO...

is it just my machine or is the browsing here slow?

if you don't understand what i mean, basically i'm asking if it takes a while for threads etc to pop up after you click on 'em...

i can click "performance talk" and MAYBE 5 minutes later it'll show the page....when it doesn't, it sais it could not be found or can not be displayed... has this happened to anyone else?

abalto: is there server problems? is the server full? whats up?

I was having the same problem most of the weekend. It's better now, but still stalls once in a while.

eh...sometimes its OK, but just when i clicked submit thread a couple of min. ago, i had to exit my browser, and re-open moparchat.com to get it to work... too bad ya can't just up the fuel octane rating, or just adjust the timing or carb settings to make it not stall.... lol

I've noticed that it times me out real quickly and makes me re-sign-in. If I am doing a reply, and don't save it to my notepad, it will lose all I wrote when it times me out.

It has also been very slow to respond, lately.

I've noticed that I sometimes can "kickstart" it by clicking Stop when it seems to be taking to long, then Refresh. Doesn't always work, but it seems to help.

That's what happens when a web site runs on Microsoft IIS.

It's not slow for me. As there are a number of people who are getting slow responses and a number who aren't, it rules out the server software. The problem most likely hase to do with one of the several routes, getting into the ISP that moparchat is on.

If you are constantly having problems, open a DOS window and type > tracert www.moparchat.com

you should get something like this:

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop>tracert www.moparchat.com

Tracing route to www.moparchat.com [63.219.164.170]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 123 ms 124 ms 110 ms nas20.Washington2.Level3.net [209.244.42.180]
2 124 ms 109 ms 110 ms gige7-0-1.hsipaccess2.Washington2.Level3.net [63
.212.212.3]
3 109 ms 110 ms 110 ms pos2-0.core2.Washington1.Level3.net [209.244.11.
173]
4 137 ms 110 ms 123 ms mae-east.cais.net [198.32.187.147]
5 110 ms 124 ms 109 ms nas.ser4-2.core2.mcl.cais.net [63.216.0.25]
6 206 ms 494 ms 466 ms R02mcl3-FE-0-0.nas-inter.net [64.8.192.4]
7 109 ms 110 ms 110 ms A01mcl3-FE-2-0.nas-inter.net [64.8.192.34]
8 178 ms 165 ms 178 ms 172.20.81.193
9 * 178 ms 179 ms 63.219.164.170

Trace complete.

multiple legs over 500 ms could be considered a problem. Most likely, you have one or two legs over 1000 ms. Those are definately a problem.

try running tracert when the site appears to be running slow. That is the only time you are going to be able to find the faulty route.
