Default Update on sanborn

I have been trying to get on for the past 4 days. Couldn't do it! Finally went to another server. Oh well! Maybe my squirrel is really getting tired.

Here it is. Friday morning. The wedding rehearsal is tonight-little quiet dinner of 80 people afterwards(sigh). Everything's ready for tonight and tomorrow-I actually look pretty good in my tuxedo-for an old geezer. The getaway car is all ready-wheels polished, filled up with oil and checked the gas, carbs synchronized(all six), checked timing, etc. The getaway car is my older brother's( at 67 he is the world's oldest teenager-he and his wife will ride their bike down to the wedding). Since we are well known to all the local police and sheriff's dept, I think they have an escort planned to the county line! At times it is sorta like the Dukes of Hazzard around here. Wish Daisy was here!

This ought to be an interesting event. The guest will range from those with Brooks Brothers suits(really high $) to those with Bib Overalls(my kind of folks), some of our biker friends(bandanas, tatoos down both arms, etc.), street rodders, racers(even some arn't going to race tomorrow to attend). Got some politicians, and some outlaws(first cousins to each other). Even got a note from the governor!

Yes sir, this is going to be fun! and you know what is going to be the most fun-the knowledge that the bride's parents will pay for it!!!!!!!

On a more serious note, Jeff and his guys have been going to Alabama every night putting a new car together- not ours, the GM guy he drives for. They will honeymoon in Nashville Sunday, return Monday for Tuesday night is practice time in Georgia for the new car-so far his priorities are in the right order! We will see how long that will last!

Got to go now, mama (my better half) still has some things on my "do sheet". Everybody come on down-it ought to be interesting!

Laugh Ya Hoo!!

Sounds like the good times are gonna roll this weekend.
I've been wondering where youv'e been all week. Glad to hear the 'wife to be' is on the right track. When Bill got married, we picked them up at 5:00 AM the next morning because we had tickets to the Dover NASCAR race. Never heard of Brooks Bros. suits, that must be really high dollar stuff. Again cogradulations to Jeff, you and mom.

Smile Happy Couple

May the new Groom & Bride be as happy as Mama & Papa. Very FEW wife's will let Old Guys our age get near a race car, let along own and build one.

Best of luck to the new couple.

Ron

A belated congratulations from a quiet observer. Man does not live by racing alone (but almost can).
I'm still reading and learning from all you vets. I'll be on the track in August to get some seat time then hope to put your info on motors to use over the winter.

Thank you for all the kind words and wishes. Everything went off without a hitch. Even our biker friends cleaned up pretty well!

Their "Getaway" car was my older brother's 1926 T Model roadster pickup(all steel including fenders-been on the road since 1962). It was properly decorated with red/white streamers and Jeff's friends supplied about a case of Coor's cans to tie to rear of roadster. He got the police escort out of town. Should have some photos to post soon.

They got back in town Tuesday, didn't get new car ready for practice but should be ready for racing Saturday.

Been sorta quiet around the house-been working in yard-mixed up 18 bags of concrete this afternoon- Boy, I'm tired!

Finally got a photo of the newlyweds in the "getaway" car. Yeah, I know it isn't a Mopar but it's sorta "cool" anyway.
