Hey, does anyone know what a 47 Plymouth was a Postive ground or a - ground, and who make or still prints a repair book? oh, by the way, I own a 66 Fury, and a 73 Duster.. this is my first time playing with a classic like this 47, so, any help woould be nice..

I asked this old man I know who used to be a Chrysler mechanic in the 40'and 50's.He said it 's negative ground and should be a 6 volt system.

I don't know about the 47, but I had a 40 Dodge that was Positive ground.

Chris is right the early Mopars were negative ground. Make sure you hook the coil up the same way, the - and + are reversed from what you would think.

All P15s were 6 pos.ground. Go to ww.p15-d24.com, check the links section and get a factory Service Manual from Crank n Hope Pubs.

POSITIVE GROUND! MoPar didn't switch over to negative ground till the swap to 12V. It's that way on the 38 Plymouth I have, the 40 Chrysler I had and the 49 Plymouht my buddy has.
