Default porting/port matching

I have a few questions dealing with porting and gasket port matching. Currently working on 1980 truck cylinder head. In each exhaust port there are small air injection passages. Is there an epoxy strong enough to withstand the temperature so they can be filled and smoothed or should I just blend around them and not worry about them? Also, how far into each port should be blended for gasket matching, 1", 2" ? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thumbs down your head

It is my understanding and experience that you should gut the head and get another one that head ive been told is junk and wont flow like the revised chamber dont quote me on this but i do beleive it to be true whille you at it oversize the valves all the power in a /6 is in the head ask Doug Dutra

I'm trying to picture what your ports look like, as I don't have a photo handy; but I'm not sure I can remember accurately. If the air injection ports in the exhaust are near straight and accessible from the manifold side, you might drill and tap them to accept steel pipe plugs or doubled up socket head set screws. Once in place tight enough, I believe you can grind away what you need to, including grinding away part of the screws if needed.

I hope I'm answering the same question you're asking. Again, I'm working from memory, so please bear with me.

wow

Don't worry about the holes, they won't hurt anything.

Thanks for replies, Already did as Dennis said, didn't worry about them. I just cleaned up the bowls and smoothed rough casting in the ports. Engine should be back in truck within 2 weeks. Then I'll see how much everything I put in engine helps. Thanks Pete
