abody disc brakes and spindles??
ok , hi folks, i have a disc brake set up on my 75 dart i just bought for parts , the pattern i think is 4.5" right?? this should all awap to a 70 dart right?? also if the front is 4.5" on 73 and up the back axles should also be, so what i am asking is well the 4.5" axles from a 8 1/4 rear from a 73 and up abody slip in place in another 72 and down 8 1/4 with 4" axles????????? if it well this would be great as finding rims would be SO MUCH EASIER!!! thanx

The front disc will work as the swap. There are many articles written up on this subject. As far as the rear, it should work, but I think there are 2 different spline counts. Best way to tell is take one out of each and try it. Enjoy!

Dude, I don't think there was a 72 and down 8 1/4.
Prior to that there was only 7 1/4 and 8 3/4. I'm pretty sure that the 8 1/4 came in as the 8 3/4 was fazed out. I used to be pretty in to a body's and have never heard of, or seen a small bolt 8 1/4. Maybe you've got 7 1/4" in both cars. That would be possible, as the 7 1/4 was available in all of those years. I could be wrong? |
