Why in the world would it matter where the rods were built? Buy the best solution for the money and let the macro-economic issues take care of themselves.
If you really are zenophobic then I suppose you could buy rods from Crower, Manley, Carrillo, etc. But be sure to ask if they have any of those dirty foreigners working for them before you order! |

I don't know, but... Carillo sounds suspiciously Eyetalian or Mexican, Manley sounds Irish, and and Crower sounds like some kind of made-up foreign name too.
They are EVERYWHERE!!! |

thanks for the wise ass replies.
I was asking because of the uproar over overseas made stuff on here. Though I saw a post that indicated that Manley and another were made in the USA. Sorry to bother you w/ a silly question about where to get American parts and presumably better quality. Have a nice day! Doug- will send you mail. |

Mr. T/A - I have no problem giving you my email - the board won't do it anymore - not for anyone. I don't know why they quit doing it, they just did.
I'm at ThunderboltRanch@msn.com. Sorry I seemed to piss you off. I was just clowning around. If you check another thread I was on today, you'll see that, while I'm in favor of buying American made parts, they have to be cost/quality effective for me, 'cause I'm just a broke country boy. So, if it's made offshore, and I can save a significant amount over an American made part, and I'm sure it's functionality and quality is equivalent - I'll buy it. There is only so much money in my dollar bucket, and I want to be able to enjoy our sport/hobby. |

In my point of view, I say buy whatever is cheapest, with the highest quality. If that means buying offshore, then so be it. I'm sorry that many Americans lost their jobs to overseas production, but my wallet dictates that I buy the best product at the lowest cost.

Personal attacks are not allowed on this board. It was because of people abusing the email and PM features, with personal attacks, that they were de-activated.
Let's just relax a little and let it go. |

American made connecting rods(steel)-
Carillo Oliver Crower-I think all are made in US. Dyer- not well known but excellent. Some Manley-only their ultralight-I think Lentz-for serious race applications only-very expensive-Hendricks Motorsports is their dealer-if that tells you anything. The rods are about $1000-1200 per set with ARP 7/16" race bolts, add about $400 for Carr bolts. I think the Lentz are about $1800 w/ Carr bolts. There is probably some others but those are the only ones I have worked with. |

Try Oliver, great quality, American made, bullet proof and very price competitive, probably within $100 a set of the Chinese rods and they don't come in a bucket or with a thank you note from the Chinese Nuclear War Dept.
Sorry Doug but I just can't buy into your opinions on the Chinese parts.....Your Son's may be in the line of fire some day and I really liked the one I met, I'd feel like a scum if he was ever put in harm's way because of our support of the American hating Chinese Miltary Government. No offense intended, just my narrow minded, unsubstantiated, paranoid opinion.....are we still friends? ....and what the hell do I know anyhow....I'm a Canadian....I don't even get to vote...just pay taxes and bitch....a privilage that comes with the green card |

Gee, Don... I thought friends always had to agree with each other and think the same thoughts. Friends always have to agree on everything - don't they? We would never have opposing views on anything - would we??
OK, I guess I'll let you keep your own opinion on just this subject and still be your friend. Just don't keep having any independent thought, or I'll have to rethink EVERYTHING. And... it hurts my head to think. I betch Fish Fry has some foreign parts on her. |

Sadly...I'll have to agree with you on the parts thing.....not by choice, but because of lack of it.
OK....your still my friend...I'll give you a nice reach around next time we get together... |

American made rods? How about MP? I dont run high horse, but what is so good about a mega buck rod if you are a few stages over stock? When are they required (hp wise) Ma Mopar made a pretty good rod. Plenty of weekend warriors running juice on a stock motor.

Those MP rods are made in Nepal, by a sweatshop crew of dwarf imprisoned trolls.
There are conspiracies EVERYWHERE!!! |
