Default my rustbucket

just towed my cuda up from my old place. Poor thing has been sitting for the last 7 years in the AZ sun. The interior is completely shot.. Not to mention it was originally titled in Ann Arbor, Michigan so there is plenty of cancer on it. I don't care though, it is not going to be a show car. I want to address some cancer issues then build up the 360, put a hefty shot of nitrous and use it primarily for drag racing but keep it somewhat street legal. Anyone have any suggestions on what route to go with motor? tranny? comments would be appreciated

69 Barracuda: originally 318 2bbl, 4spd car. Currently 360 4bbl w/ A904 and 8 3/4" sure-grip rearend...

looks like it has a lot of potential! for sittin for 7 years the outside looks decent. if you wanna keep it automatic, go with a 727 with racing bands etc etc...maybe 4.10's or a little bigger in the rear....personally, i would go with a 4 speed, not an auto.... maybe in the FAR future, i'm hoping to convert mine to a 4 or 5 speed standard...tub it, redo suspension etc etc...

seeing how the interior's shot, why not put 2 aluminum racing buckets up front, ditch the back seat and put a 10 or 14 point rollcage in it....5 way harnesses....custom racing dash...redo electrics and ONLY put necessary things in like:
blinkers
tail lights
head lights
MAYBE dome light
MAYBE stereo
and anything else that is NECESSARY

how about some more pictures??

cool... i have a summit 4 gallon veticle fuel cell in my trunk we are going to fill with racing fuel...it has it's own electric pump and will flow when the NOS is on....good thing i have that Jacobs NMM (NOS MasterMind)...i can retard the motor with a twist of a knob from my driver seat . oh, that reminds me...

i called the tech guy at Jacobs to ask which wire to grab off the ECU (chrysler gold box).

he told me to use the wire coming off the neg. side of the coil. what he DIDN'T say is which side? run it off the coil, or off the ecu?? i didn't call back cause i haven't had much time...right now i'm trying to figure out what happened to my windshield wiper motor... shorted out...

Another Mopud nut in AZ. Here is my suggestion: I'll buy the first 6-pack of beer (something good) and we'll BS about your car until you decide what you want. I'd definately go back to some sort of 4,5,or 6 speed standard!

PM or email me: Address is on the web page.

Later,

Greg

thanks greg! if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have found this site. I am certainly entertaining the idea of going back to a 4spd. I still have the clutch pedal (under carpet) and gaping hole where shifter went for a 4spd. I'll shoot you an email sometime. You work with Jason w/ nitrous'd Z-28 right?

Greg

Default what to do ??

first thing is first. get rid of the weak link! You guessed it the 904 has to go. if you are going to bracket race your fish go with the 727, for consistancy. If you want to have a fun driver get a scater shield and the 4 speed and a GOOD clutch. your money your choice. have fun either way. Happy trails Dirty Dan
