Hey River, thats a really interesting site you've got there and a good looking dart. Good to know that I'm not the only first timer in the world. I love those big block,A-body cars.To think of such a small car with all of that motor just makes me crazy.I've got a 69 barracuda with a 440 and the torque that engine has will snap your neck.Have you had the chance to race it? Just curious what king of e.t. it'll run.I'm interested in seeing your page on the move of the leaf spring.
Take it easy. |

no danny i havent run it yet. i'll have it ready for spring. i did though take it for a spin around the block the other day...which is when i discovered the need to move the springs. i have 9" wide bf's on it and i can't give it more than half throttle. when the converters grabs, the tires just spin. doesnt even jerk a little, just smokes em right off. its not safe like that even if i go easy with it. so, once i have some real rubber under it, i'll know more about what it'll do. Thanks SJS Hey did the radiator dimensions help at all?

River very nicely done. I wish i had the time and resources to do what you did. I have a 68 Plymouth Cuda. Removed the Slant six tranny the engine was missing when i bought it and immediately got the 383 ready for it. This was the only plan i ever had for the car. First thing I had to fabricate was the motor mounts. I have the engine sitting about an inch lower than the factory or any aftermarket conversion can in this car. The body is the only thing left to do. It was in pretty bad shape when i got it and slowly I am working it back to a graceful appearance. But interesting color its Curious Yellow correct. Thats the color I will be painting my cuda. Good luck with the rest of your project.

thanks all for the compliments. now i could use some feedback if you would. i did get a demon page up now, but also, i put up a page with "tip and tricks" for doing the conversion. i put up everything i personally have run into, and a few other things. if anyone could look it over and see if they can add to that or if im wrong about certain parts interchanging, i'd appreciate it. theres nothin worse than incomplete data. thanks again.

Again, you did a very good job with the info. The only thing I see is about the brakes. My 71 Demon still has the factory 10" brakes with the small bolt pattern on the front and with the 10" brakes in the rear on the Dana it stops fine.I will be upgrading to a Wilwood disc brake kit in the near future especially when I get the car into the low 10's.
