Default Automatic Shutdown

72 Duster \6 with electronic ignition will shutdown without warning while being driven, maybe the recent 105 + degree days are a factor. The engine will quit, it will start then immediately die, it has fire and fuel. The ballast resistor, ECU, ignition coil and distributor pick-up are all within spec. This is aggravating and dangerous, gotta get it fixed, need help.

Default Quits, Starts, Quits?

I could be way off base but in the heat, it sounds like vapor lock.
Just thinking out loud again.

Maybe ambient air temp is unrelated. Check your grounds and replace the ballast resistor.

It does sound some like vapor lock and the fuel pressure check is a good idea.

What carb, manifold, and spacers (if any) are you using??

How close to exhaust does the fuel line run?

Also, a plugged fuel filter can act like that - I just went through months of trying to track that down in my old frood truck.

Electronic pick up coil in the distributor, replace that and problem solved....I think....I hope...I'm not sure but it's a good guess?
