Default 2 field alt on old 1 wire reg??

I thought I saw somewhere where it said to just ground the 2nd field wire to run the newer 2 field alternator on a car with the old single field setup. Is that correct?

Default

Yes, If you ground one of the field leads, the alt will work in a single field application.
