Question 440 to Hemi K frame

I have a 426 Hemi with a new MP block. The block has the 440 mounting ears on it, buy my K frame is for a Hemi. Does anyone know of someone who makes a mounting kit to do this? Please help!!!!

Thanks,
GENE

It's really not crap. MP gives you a choice of mounting, Hemi or traditional K-member.

Don't know of a mounting kit to go that direction, typically the challenge is the opposite. I'm sure someone make one. You could always find a traditional K-member, but that's a bunch of work...

I looked at the catalog and it shows the HEMI block with the wedge mounts. Is this what you ordered or did you get it in a trade etc.?

I came across a complete engine that had already been rebuilt. The price was right, but the mounting was wrong. I thought for sure I could get some mounts from somewhere. The Schumacher site doesn't list this application. I'm going to call today and see what they say.

Anyway, I have already bead blasted the k-frame and rebuilt all the suspension, so I'm really trying to avoid a k-frame swap.

Thanks

As I recall, the only difference between a 440 k-member and Hemi/440-6 K member is the height of the skid plate. A block with 440 mounts should be able to bolt directly on to a Hemi K-member.

I primarily the drivers side engine mount is different to make room for the exhaust/steering since the manifold has to drop down as opposed to the 440 which sweeps up and back. I recall reading somewhere of someone placing a hemi with the 440 mounts into a 440 K-member and ran into problems with exhaust clearance problems and no availability of headers.

I would stick with the Hemi K-member and continue the search for a motor mount solution.

Best of luck
