Default edelbrok 800

hi,
what is the process you guys have been using to set up a edelbrok 800 on a 440? Have you had to change jets? Anything besides tune it in?

I went bone stock on my crate 360, tried changing the springs, but it wasn't needed..

I normally only change the stepped rods. You can get just about any combo you need by simply changing the rods. Depending on your combo you may have to change the jets.

The fat part of the rod is what is in the hole (jet) at ilde and the skinny part of the rod is what is in the hole (jet) off-idle. If you are fat (rich) at idle and lean off-idle get a rod that is a larger diameter on the big part and smaller on the skiny part. Keep adjusting (take small steps) to get it dialed in.

The Edelbrocks seem to bolt on and run. I did have a brand new one that squirted gas from one of the plugs on the side, but the shop I bought it from just swapped my into a new one.
