Question Mini-Tubbing

Sappenin brothers and sisters. Was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to mini-tub their car. I saw the process in Car Craft a while back on a 69 Camaro and the end result was amazing. Bigger tires, better handling, you know that pro-touring look. I'm definitly going to do it on my 68 Charger and was wondering if any of ya'll could point out any trouble spots or tips to make the job go a little easier. Not that body work is easy, but you know what I'm getting at?

Be cool people and keep snuffin the Mickey D's happy meal cars. You know, the fart pipe crowd??

Later,
J-440

I think one of the Mopar magazines covered this a year or so ago.
I believe thel used the Mopar spring re-location kit to move the leaf springs into/under the rear frame rail, the cut the inner wheel wells and add a 3" strip of metal to widen the wheel well so it now was even with the frame rail. I thint the trunk spring support braces needed to be shortened and re-welded to the wider inner wheel wells inside the trunk.

another way to go about it is half tubs, cut the inner half of your existing tub out and extend the tub inwards up to the chassis rail. it doesnt increase the diameter of your tub but adds alot more width. also you wont have to modify your boot spring anchors, just cut them off and reweld back into there original location once the tub has been extended. have got this done on my A body along with the mp relocation kit, have been able to fit a 10x15" rim with 275 60 series tyre with ease.
