The 650 should be able to power most street machines well. The amount of HP is a factor in how much cfm you need.
What cam and intake do you have? Also, do you have headers on the engine?

The reason the Holley is used as a race/high performance carb is its superior accelerator pump system. You have the option of both 30 and 50CC pumps, a variety of pump squirter sizes and a variety of actuator cams to "time" the pump shot to the needs of the engine. You can make a 650 work on a large(400+") or a small(300" or less). The secret is the fuel curve of which the accelerator pump system is an important part. The uninformed person bolts a stock Holley on, jumps on the throttle, it stumbles, then takes it off because they don't know any better. Take advantage of their blunder, buy it for a song but then be prepared to work with it to get it to perform how you want.

But, on the down side, our experience has shown the Holley doesn't get quite the normal driving fuel mileage of a Carter, etc. But then again, it sure works for performance!
