A/C Problems

Hey everyone we have a 98 Dodge 24 Valve Turbo Diesel and for the past 3 summers the A/C hasn't worked. Its been in the shop numerous time and they say its fixed and in another week it doesn't work anymore. We recharged it twice. Just wondering if any of you have had this Problem

when you got it back from the shop what did they tell you they did to it too fix it? because an a/c system on your truck is the same as on a regular gas powered truck. but other than that the only problem i have ran into with the a/c systems on a ram is the evaporator leaking. and let me tell you, and i am not kidding when i say this. you will half to drop the steering colum and pull the entire dash out of the truck to get it out. so the best advice i can give you is to go to the local autoparts place and buy a recharging kit for 30 bucks and find some one with a leak detector and stick that thing at every joint on the a/c system with the a/c system charged and running and then stick the detector in the a/c vent. (that will tell you if it is the evaporator or not) hoped that helped.
