Elliott!
Awesome again.
Sterling still in the points lead, too. Life is GOOD |

Elliott won it from the pole, not many have accomplished that in a while... great job of driving by him and Sterling, they were the cars to beat all day long. Dodges and Fords, just like the good ol' days.........

What a great win for Bill Elliot! Also a win for the "older" drivers. I ended up missing most of the race because of the rain delays. Sterling doubles his points lead, Bill moves up a spot, Good day I think.

Ditto! It sure would be nice to see Petty get one soon. That would just about put the icing on the cake.

I agree with you. Although I'm not a Kyle Petty fan per say I would like to Petty Enterprises back in the mix running for championships, competing with the other powerhouse teams of the sport. What do you think of their current lineup?

I don't think their cars are up to speed yet, but they are making headway.
The current PE boys seem to be content just to be in the race. Kyle is there to keep Petty Enterprises active, win or loose. John Andretti is good, but not a very aggressive driver. Jerry Nadeau (sp?) may be what PE needs as far as a driver. He may provide them with enough testosterone to give them their first taste of victory. I hope so. |

I think that's a fair assessment. Sentimentally, I think people would like Kyle do good because of what happened to Adam. He has shown alot of progress this year. I don't know what to think about Andretti, you hit it when you said non-agressive. As for the 44 car. Buckshot was a disaster, Nadeau about got them a win at Sears Point. Didn't his rear-end break?

Pocono has always been good to Elliott, and good to Mopar, too.
In 1989 Bob Keselowski won the ARCA race at Pocono in a Lebaron ! That man was a pioneer. Nobody had run the Mopar small-block at the national level in a long time and nobody had won in a Mopar in a dozen years. It was such a big deal back then: a Mopar in stock car racing! We all figured it had to mean a return to the big time. Took another dozen years, but it finally happened... Here's a picture from http://www.teamkeselowski.com/ |
