Engine balancing question
I have a question regarding matching connecting rod weights. I have heard the you must weigh each end of the rod and match those weights individually. My question is how (special equipment?) does one weigh the end of a rod.
Another stupid question, but please enlighten me here. Thanks. |

You don't need special equipment. What you are looking for is consistancy. If you weigh each end of each rod at the same point on the scale - with the opposite end at the same point on a work surface, and then shave all of them to match the lightest, you're in business. There are some anal retentive refinements you can do, but that's essentially it.
