Question

Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can swap a newer style 727 TorqueFlite in for the old style torqueflite? Are the trans mounts in the same place? How about dimensions? Am I gonna need a new drive shaft? I'm thinking about dropping a full manual valve bodied 727 in to my 60 DeSoto when it gets the hot Indy headed 431 I'm building up.

I guess if this fails, I'm just gonna have to get out the old tape measure and crawl under there. Oh well, the weather's gettin' nicer here, and the weekend's comming!

Thanks,
Pat

Well with my crate to a 727 the mount pattern for the original mount is to wide and the mount pad on the 727 is a few inch's to short to reach the cross member I am machining a adapter plate and bolt the plate to the trans and weld the original trans mount to the adapter plate. If you come up with a better Idea let me know.
