I would look here:
Books for cars They have a 65 service manual but I don't know if it has the electrical. Call and ask! |

the trunk mounted battery is easy... just run a really long, large guage wire from the bat. in the trunk, under the car next to the frame, and to the big post of the starter... thats it, the other 2 wires should be there...

What 2 wires. The complete wiring harness was removed and nothing was marked. I am trying to piece everything together plus make new mods. Thanks Ron

Wiring problems
I have a '64 Polara with a similar wiring harness, but, I have modifed mine to take advantage of the Dual Field alternator, Electronic Voltage Regulator and Electronic Ignition. In addition I have mounted a Black Magic 150 Electric fan in front of the radiator and I have installed a custom 6 Way adjustable electric front seat. So you can see my car has some electric needs that you would not find on a stock '64 or '65 B Body. I had the advantage(?) of starting with a running driving car and I tried the trunk mounted battery, too.
I could not possibly tell you all the steps to take to make your car work. I know that a huge help to me were the electrical articles written by Rick Ehrenberg in Mopar Action. I see by your address that you live in Ohio. The Mopar Nats are in Columbus next weekend and I would go there with a camera and take as many photos as I could of early B body engine compartments all the while bugging their owners for details. Good Luck! |
