340 4-speed 323 launching
What's the proper launching technique for a 340 4-speed demon with 3.23s? I have a comp cams Extreme Energy 268 and an Edelbrock RPM Airgap with X heads. Thanks.

Depends on a few things...
First, how have you been launching this car in the past? You may get nasty wheel spin if you try and launch it really hard. You may have to do what most of the street guys do at the track: Bring it up to 2000-2500, easy clutch and then once the car is rolling bury the throttle. If you try to "pro stock" launch it you will go up in smoke especailly with street tires. |

True, dropping the hammer while side steppin the clutch can cause a lot of spin even at low rpm's. Ease the clutch in while raising the rpm. Take care not to burn up the clutch.
You can try dropping the hammer and clutch at 200 rpm. If you spin at this point, try the first method. |

Recommendation
Simple, I recommend a pair of E.T. Streets on some matching rims therefore you may leave them on there and drive around or put your radials with there on rims back on. I have them on two cars, understand I drive them twice a mon on the weekends they hook like crazy at the track and very decent on the street with lower tire pressure at either place. hope this helps
