Question Quick Question?

I have a spread bore intake, # 4323652. The date on it is 4-17-87 and it's off a Dodge cop car. My question is, it has a 1 1/2" raised egr in the floor. Is there anything I need to know to get this intake to work properly? I only paid $15 for the intake and would like to use it but want to know about any problems I might encounter. I'm going to use an 83 Thermoquad on my 81 Cordoba 318.

Those floor jets are indeed for the EGR system. You can take them out and plug them up. If you don't, just make sure there clean in and out and under. The pathway will lead to the EGR mounting pad on the drivers side for the vaccum valve that sits there.
There should be no vproblems in getting it to work properly. Just the jetting issuie.
I just wanna say that $15 for the intake is a good price. I paid $20 and was happy. A year later, I went back to the J-yards and couldn't get one for less than a $150.00
I told them they were cracked in the head. They said it was a rare part. I couldn't help but laff in there face. I said you gotta be kidding me. I said I can get an Edel. aluminum part for less. The didn't care.
Yep, I walk out laffin.

Unhappy Truth is stranger than fiction,

The thing that worries me somewhat is the 1 1/2" tower partially blocking the pass. side primary hole. That seems to be a really large valve. And then on the drivers side (deep side) there is just an open hole down there. Does that sound right, it sure don't look right to me.

Rumblefish knows more about emissions stuff than I do. I just rip everything out and start over. No smog checks in this part of Orygun.

Yep, thats right. I like Doug's idea. MoPar used to sell a kit to block/plug up the holes.

I believe that a trip to the hardware store can do one side. A machine shop could do the other. If you find the kit P#, shoot it this way. I had the P# awhile ago, put it away for safe keeping, forgot where it is. (Damn it )

Exclamation Now I feel stupid

Started getting everything ready and noticed my intake don't have a choke mount on the intake. Now I don't know what to do for a choke.

Run a manual choke cable and mount it to a peice of metal that you can bend (With effort) and mount the new metal brack to the carb stud. It'll take some tinkering around. I have done this before.
I also have another solution if your game for an experment. I have it worked out. Not a finished product yet. I 'll tell you when you E-mail me.
I don't wanna let the cat out of the bag yet.
Your running a T-Q right?

Exclamation I took the easy way out!

I decided to take the easy way out with the holes in the bottom of the intake. The small hole on the drivers side i plugged with a copper pipe that I ground to the right size and soldered closed. When I installed it I drove it in and flattened it to the floor and re-soldered it again. The larger plug I cut off and welded closed with the arc welder and ground the weld down to be a smooth transition for air flow.
Problem solved - I hope.
