FAST. It'll be the fastest current American car on the road next to the Saleen S7

Hell, High Performance Mopar (R.I.P.) got the current R/T 10 into the 11's. Should be no problemo with 500 hp on tap.

RT/10 stock don't hit 11's unless they are in the hands of some VERY skilled drivers. I have friends that turn 11.7's consistantly (and have bested themselves with 11.5's) in bone stock GTS's.

As far as the SRT-10 doing any better, I wouldn't count on it. I would expect that this car will have the magazines turning low 12's or maybe a 12.0. Expect the big improvemnets in handling and chassis refinements. They dropped the engine almost 2 inches lower to lower the center of gravity. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1.00 G on the skidpad.

It's still not enough for me to sell my GTS Coupe though. I still hate the compromised looks of the SRT-10. I bet that it'll have cupholders too...

jimmycarter... I like that! May I use it in future writing?? As in:
" According to Jimmy Carter, ' of my nine dollars, I like the one I spent on food the best.' " ???

And, if you spent your dollar on fast food, where would you be without a cupholder in your Viper(s) to hold the Latte??

New 2003 Viper??? You mean the new Honda S2000 right? Leave it up to the Germans to play with a body style that don't need no playin!! I liked the curves of the old Viper's. They got that vintage Cobra look. Ain't complaining about the HP and handling though. Here's an idea, let's all drive around in new cars that look exactly alike ok? Miata, Z3, S2000, Viper how about some originality people?? Think I'll catch some flak?

Don is a straight shooter, and doesn't tell BS (untrue) stories. I met him through this board, and started going to the drags with him. There are people who hang around him that take advantage of his good nature. He is smart, funny, VERY experienced in various racing arts. He drinks "brown whiskey" - mostly bourbon - mixed 50/50 with Diet Pepsi (yechh!).

Don is a good, solid guy - so is his wife Holley (spelled like the carb). He is smart and funny, and easily spots people who are not completely straight with him.

People who are phonies don't hang around him for long.

I think you'll like him - I sure do!

I was supposed to go with him this trip, but I didn't have the money to pay my part. He offerred to cover me, but I know he's short on money and I didn't want to take advantage of him.

I'm 58, and Don just turned 49. I sure would like to get together at some point before my brain turns to complete mush!
