What year is the 360 and does it have a truck oil pan?
You may need the truck oil pan for the 360, the 318 oil pan ends are smaller than the 360 so the oil pan will not interchange.

I'm not sure about the cam either? does the '88 318 use a hydraulic roller cam? The earlier small blocks are non-roller cam engines if this is the case?

Is the '88 fuel injected? I think the intake will swap over because both engines are non-magnum engines (depending on the year of the 360?), but if it is fuel injected, you will have to swap all the sensors too.
The 360 uses a slightly different drivers side engine mount bracket. I got a new one from the dealer for (I think) $6.
The 360 also uses an externally ballanced torque converter so you have to add weights to your converter ,or get a 360 converter, or get the special B&M 360 flexplate.

If you've got a roller cam in the 318 (usually ones starting in 85 or 86 and later do) and it's actually a 318 one you're probably better off leaving what's in teh 360 in there. If it's fuel injection it might swap over and work, but you might also need the proper ECM/computer for a 360 to make it work right.

I didn't think they went to the roller engines until '92????

Aren't all the LA rollers called "Magnum"??

they started using rollers in the late 80's usually 87 and up from what i've seen. The lifters are a little longer and they use a shorter push rod so be carefull not to interchange the wrong parts. I have a friend that did pretty much the same swap, it worked for the most part but he had trouble. The computer is the key. Now you just have to wait untill someone strolls by and tells ya what ta do there

good luck on the project though.....

Typically engines with 302 heads had the rollers. I've never taken any 318 older then 88 apart that far to know what it had, but the 1985 service manuals were the first year to list both.

I beilieve the 318 intake will use the smaller poarts and may not make your 360 happy; unless your 318 originally had 360 head which some did.
