/6 to 318 swap....wee bit ofa problem
ok...here's the issue....
I had a /6 in my 66 B-Body and decided i wanted a 318....now the problem is that i was told the mounts were the same and it would fit in without changing the mounts....Welll that is just not true...i got the mounts for the 318 and droppped the motor in....Guess what? the engine sits about 1/2 and inch too low on one side and also is crooked so the front end of the crank needs to move over about 3 inches....Anyone know how i fix this? do i need new sub-frames? or can i get conversion mounts i've checked Schumacher Creative Services, and yearone, they don't seem to have any. i do believe you can get away with bolting a peice of square tube to the one motor mount to try and get things to line up

You should be able to use a set of 273 mounts for the '66. The early K-frames were all the same. I thought Schumacher made a set, but maybe they only make them for a 340-360?
