Question How to identify a 727 torqueflite

Does anybody know how to identify the year of a 727 ?

I have a 1969 440 installed in a 1974 dodge truck.
The truck originally had a 318 so when I installed the big block I had to get a new tranny that would bolt to the big block.
I found a newly rebuilt unit at one of the local towing yards.

The tranny works fine but I would like to install a shift kit.
The kits fit tranny's from 66 to 70 and then another kit for the
71 to 77.

No clue on the year of what I have ?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

The transmission part number is located on the drivers side pan rail just above the pan gasket. it will start with PK.
Look here to find the year:

Smile Thanks

Thanks a lot John.
Especially that link that took me right to the information.

I was kind of leaning towards an after 70 tranny as the truck
is a 74. According to the numbers and that list my tranny is
a 67 -68.
Again thanks you saved me the hassle of getting the wrong kit.

Jerry
