That's a tall order with so little information.
What is your budget and what exactly would you like to do? One easy way is to install headers and a more open exhaust, install a super-6 manifold and 2bbl carb, and go to electronic ignition if you aren't already there. Just some thoughts. Hope this helps. Later. |

Fast or Quick??
You should try advancing the timming and check to see if the advance is comming-in fast. (mechanical and vacuum) Total mechanical spark advance should be 30 to 32 degrees, all in by 2800 rpm. See how much timming you can give it with-out spark knock, while running premium gas.
Another thing to try is increasing the carb. jetting, step it up a few sizes richer and see how it runs. A rear end gear swap can really change the way the car leave a stop light, go to the junk yard and look for a 3.23 or 3.55 rear-end to swap-in. All these changes can be done cheap if you are "handy" with tools. DD |

hp / 6
You can mill that head up to .095" and raise the compression ratio up a bunch and rejett that carb and do some exhaust work to get it to mach up and run right. That will make you happy and keep it under 1000.
