Confused who's right or wrong

what is the right thing to do? The hanes engine manual says that on a rb (440), when installing the manifold, you only use the valley pan with sealant on it. But when you buy the felpro manifold installation kit it has both the embossed pan and the 4 felt gaskets in it. Do I sandwich the pan with the gaskets or just use the pan, wich does have the embossed groves around the intake holes, with brush tack and sealant? Its an aluminum manifold if that matters.

Hmmm...so strange,
I've never bought a Fel-PRo valley pan for my 440 that came with anything but the sheetmetal valley pan and a little tube of sealant. Any way thats all I have ever used anyway. A little sealant at the front and rear where the metal strips bolt down and torque the bolts properly..no problems for me.
