Good God, it still runs...
I've got a 1968 225 slant 6. Never been modified (except for unleaded valve seats), never been rebuilt. It's 34 years old, the rings are shot, and the wiring is so old you can practically see through it. It's attatched to a truck tranny, so it runs at higher RPMs all the time. It has well over 300k miles on it as well. To top all of that off, the block was cracked about four years ago and welded back together. All of this, and it still does freeway speeds without even a slight complaint. I just wanted to cast my vote for the Chrysler /6 to be the toughest engine ever designed.

Yep, it's hard to kill a SL6 and I have *tried* hard to do so.
There are some good "can't kill em" stories in the "How strong is a SL6" thread. DD |
