Infinity compatabilty w/aftermarket CD player

My wife has a 97 Grand Cherokee with the factory AM/FM/cass/CD combo. The CD player quit working and I want to put some sort of aftermarket CD player in it. Is there any compatabilty problems? Does it use the factory Infinity amp? Will I need to get new speakers? I am not familiar with the Infinity system so any help is appreciated.
