Question

How big is your fuel line from the tank to your pump?. I put the same motor in out 67 Baracuda and it has been a very hity and miss motyor. Runs great some times and like a dog the next. That was our problem. Just passing along some experience. Did you put on the 1.6 roller rockers?. It will rev even faster and longer. Enjoy it Toddd.

I'm just being nosey what motor did you have in car orignally? who did you order from? once again real good to hear your happy me bud!!!!

i switched from the 625 cfm carter comp series to a 750 cfm edelbrock. i used dynomax ceramic coated headers with 2 1/2" aluminized exhaust and flowmaster mufflers and the original cuda tips. this has a real deep and strong sound.
hey also wanted to let you know i saw the picture posted of your cuda. very sharp!!

the fuel line is the original on the car, it probably needs replaced anyways. what size line did you switch to? i haven't made any changes to the engine yet but thanks for the tip on the roller rockers. i'll bet your little 67 cuda will fly with this motor.

i am very satisfied with the 380 crate motor. i pulled it from the crate put on the fuel pump, motor mounts, and pulleys from my original 318 and put it in the car. this was a very easy swap. i did have to use spacers on the motor mount. i am still using the original 904 tranny w/b&m shift kit. i changed to a 2400 stall torque converter and because the engine is balanced diff than the 318 used the weight kit on the converter from mopar perf. i switched to a bigger 725 cfm edelbrock carb. my car has the bulge hood i used edelbrock 14x3 breather with no real problems but i did have to pound on the base a little. also from mtrv8n advice i used a torque strap from schumacher. the only problem i had was that the motor was running a little hot. my car had the small 18" radiator. i switched to a 22" radiator and have had no other problems. as far as i am concerned the motor is great right out of the box. i ordered the engine from the moparts connection.

Lightbulb fuel line

I have been fighting this thing at the track (once a year 1/4 mile drags) for two years now. I upgraded to a 3/8 fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump, but will most likely have to pull my sending unit out to make sure it is 3/8 also. I will probably put an electric pump infront of the tank as well to ensure lots of fuel to the mechanical pump. I don't get enough opportunities to "fine tune " this engine but we're getting close. I run a 727 with a 3000 stall and 3.55 gears on the street. WE're getting close as a 50 foot bun out will tell us. Enjoy it...we do.

Our motor runs at around 190-200 on a hot day. Stock rad ( two core), and no shroud.

Have you cut the oil filter open after the first oil change?. I did and found nothing out of the ordinary.

Later Toddd.

sounds like you've got your car running good. what kind of times are you turning in the 1/4? i am planning on switching to 3.55 gears and a 727 later also. my car is smoking the tires for a long distance too. i have a set of bolt on frame connectors and a pinion snubber i am going to install as soon as i get a chance. i need to get it to hookup a little quicker. have you tied the frame on your car? i think i need to get some stickier tires too. riht now i am running firestone firehawk 275/60/15 in the back. also i did check the oil filter after the 1st oil change. everthing looked normal to me too. talk to ya later.

No the car didn't run too well this year, but we have since found the gremlin. Yes i have the frame tied with frame connectors. I was running a borrowed set of 3.91 and the car really responded well. I might go a bit lower next year. I was running some 26x9x14 Hoosier Quick time pros (DOT), but at the time the car was leaned waaay out, so I don't have any good times to report. Later Toddd.
