Arrow C-body headers

hello, i'm new to this board and i was wondering could i get some advise on some things... i have a '67 Chrysler Newport custom with the L.P. (350 horse) 440 that runs great but i'd like a little more oomph, i did a rebuild of the motor last year and at the time i replaced the old 650 holley that was on it with a new 670 street avenger (a 770 would have been better looking back, but it was MUCh more expensive) and i put in a slightly higher lift/duration cam in it....now i'm looking at adding a set of headers, but i've never seen a listing for a C-body..would just generic 440 headers work? or a set designed for a b-body maybe? i would also like to change the intake, i've read the old holley street dominator is a very good all around intake, even though it's a single plane i've heard it's still good for the street, but do they still make it? if so, anyone know a part#..would a edelbrock performer RPM intake be better for my combo?

thanks....C-bodies rule!

Hmmm c body...
I bought a set 2 years ago that were supposed to be for a and c body big blocks. (from Casler by the way, a sub company of hooker I believe) They didn't work with an a-body with RB engine, so they still sit in the corner of the garage. but maybe a B engine would have fit with them... Either way The headers I bought after that (Schumaker Creative services) Are supposed to fit C body I think. They are the Tri-Y design headers. I love them myself, well worth the 580 (chrome or 500 painted) dollars I paid! They have a site at www.engine-swaps.com

(Oh yeah my cuda is pictured in the customers photos too)

Have fun

I have a '67 Imperial(also a C body) with the same engine you do - LoPo 440, and I've been looking for off-the-shelf headers for it for maybe 12 years. I haven't found any, so if you do, please write me at ThunderboltRanch@msn.com

The only thing to do is have them custom built, or have your iron manifolds extrude-honed - about $800 in the lower 48 - and I'm not sure the additional performance is cost effective.

Bets route is probably just a set of large diameter pipes and low restriction mufflers.

Good luck.

Ok so with Doug making me doubt myself , I did go back to Schumakers site, to make sure....
the tri-y headers are described for these applications

'67 & up A-Body,
'62 & up B-Body,
'65 & up C-Body,
'70-74 E-Body,
'73 & up F, M and J-Body.
Designed for street use
and light competition -
retains all your
low-end torque

Also I'll look at my casler headers and see if i can get a part number or anything off them to check into
Didn't think I was going crazy...

i have a 66 fury with a 440 and i use a set of hooker super comp #5111 and they fit but the passenger side needed to be dented to clear the torsion bar.i had these on the same car with a 383 with no problems at all.also used a comealong and pulled the headers together at the collector to gain an extra 1/2" clearance which made it clear the driver side tosion bar all together.the real trick was fabbing the 3" exhaust to go thru the cross memeber cuz the humps are offset to the collectors by @5".getting them in and out can also be a bitch but with the torsion bars out completely and jackin the motor up one side at a time they can be slid in from underneath with minimal cursing.taking all the header studs out and plugs will also have to happen if you want a clean scratch free install.even though these headers are not the best make and or size(1 3/4" tube) its all we c-body owners got to work with until someone takes note that they are popular too.

I ran Hedman Hedders for a B body application for years in my C body clip, they were tight on the passenger side, but they fit with the 440.

hooker part # 5113 (?) They are hooker super comps and fit great on my 70 Newport with a 383 magnum. Car is a console car. Might need to modify column shifted cars

You know, what about the headman Shortie headers part # HED 78070? They will fit a C Body as well and are clear of the drivers side torsion bar. Only other change required is to swap out the starter for a mini starter. Got that set up ready to got on my brother's 300 and mine.

Lightbulb The Right Headers

Fortunately, I have a C-Body with the same setup as yours. I have a 68 Chrysler 300 with 440 HP. I got my Hooker Super Comp. headers from summit. I don't know the number for the headers, but a phone call to them will get it. Their number is 1-800-230-3030.
No modifications are needed for these headers. They fit perfectly, as they are made for C-Body cars.
The Performer RPM is the best intake. I have seen some great dyno results with this Manifold. You do need more carb for a 440. Even a 750 is small for a stock 440. I use only Edelbrock and for good reason. I have been using a 750 EB Performer for about 10 years without any problems.
Good Luck!
