Default Mini Hemi

I had the chance of a lifetime today when i got to look at C/D's new small block Hemi. What a trick piece. It resembles a B motor only scaled down. Has some great potential, and I can't wait until it sees production. Two plug heads, Striaght runners on the intakes, super high cam location. I wonder if they would miss this one.

Angry Hey Speedway

Now that you got our attention, did you get any pictures? What displacement was the mini?

Nice little article in Aug issue of Mopar Action on the new Hemi. 345 CID, 345HP@5600, bore and stroke 3.92 X 3.58. Approx 100 lbs lighter than the 360. One neat wrinkle is the ign setup, has the popular coil over plug setup but with a wire running over to the other side to another plug so each coil is firing 2 plugs. Kind of like having a dual ign setup ala Nascar. Interesting article, couple of typos, but interesting none the less.

Red face Old Wine in a New Bottle

That multiple coil set-up is nothing new. The Model T Ford had 4 coils; one for each cylinder! Regarding the new Hemi, are any parts compatable with any current V8s? That is could you put a regular Mopar distributor in the block and make it work?

The article said virtually nothing was the same as any previous engine except for stroke and bore center. Rear bolt pattern is same as the new cammer.
Didn't say new, said " popular" coil over plug setup. Had a "T" vibrator coil on my Model A hooked to the frame and a ground chain when I was in high school. If you touched the car when it was turned on it was a shocking experience. Bet Sanborn is familiar with this stunt.

Damned tootin I was aware of it- even was nailed by them a few times. Pitty the poor dog that hikes their leg to take a whizz. But, if you had pure rubber tennis shoes, it wouldn't get you; if you had "penny loafers" on with leather soles and the grass was a little wet- it would stand your hair out straight. Wonder if that's what happened to my hair? Naw!
