Electronic ignition upgrade

I'm going to install an electronic ignition w/ MP orange box in my stock 383 in the next few days. Should I be able to feel any "seat of pants" performance improvements, or will it just reduce my maitainence?

Unless you are going from a non functional lean burn or a dist. with a stuck vac advanced. I noticed easier starting and smoother acceleration but not any real increase in oomph. IMHO it is worth it due to the fact that for me the lean burn died and i had to crank the advance of the dist. up so high (so the car would accel) that it tended to lug the starter real bad. Also i cant stand setting points .

I agree, unless there is something realy wrong with your current distributor, the butt dyno isn't going to notice a thing.
