Did you follow the wiring diagram that came with the msd?

It has different configurations for different set ups (iedodge, ford, ect)

If you're running the chrysler mag pickup distributor you have to have purchased a MSD box with the connector for the Mag Pickup. It will be on the opposite end of all of the other wires and will have the same connector as your factory distributor.

Good luck,

Greg

It's the distributor that came with the kit. Is there a special box that is used just for this one? I was hoping to get it hoked up tonight yet!

you can probably find the right connector piece at the "help" display in the auto parts store. However, it would have been easier to order the MSD already setup with the connector.

the white wire is not used in the system
you have to splice the blue and green wires into the wires from your magnetic pickup
the orange wire supplies power to the msd box
the red wire supplies power to the coil
the yellow wire is the tach wire.
black is ground.
hope that helps!

My book shows a connector next to the tack output for the Chrysler Mag pickup??? I can scan the chrysler section and email you the pic if you'd like.

Yeah, there is a connecter there, but it's not the same as what's on the distributor. Do i just take thsoe 2 wires and splice them into teh ones going into teh distributor? Also, I'm not sure on what to do with teh Orange wire
Thanks-
Steve

I just installed this kit... Look on page 10 of instructions.

Heavy red goes to battery.
HEAVY black goes to ground.

Orange goes to positive of coil.
Black goes to negative of coil.

White goes to wire which previously went to negative on coil.
Red goes to wire which previously went to positive on coil.

If you have a tach, you will need to splice it with the wire which previously went to negative on coil.

Hope this helps...

here is the diagram from MSD'd site, its pretty clear...and as you can see you keep your regular ignition box and splice the msd one into it...

Yes,

I kept my Mopar ignition in conjunction with the MSD. However, you can also remove it...

Follow the wiring diagram, you'll have no problems.

coming from your distributor the grey with the black trace line is your positive (+) and the black is negative (-) so splice the green wire from the msd box into the black wire and splice the orange wire with the grey one with the black tracer and you should be set
