Belt squealing...
Ok, I swapped in my old 318 this weekend. I put an Edelbrock dual plane performer intake(with EGR). Well the sucker has a ton of ports in it for sending units etc. My problem is the plugs I used to plug the ports stick up a little, which prevented me from using the rear mount on my A/C compressor(rotary style). My belts are squealing real bad(when the A/C is on) and the tension feels fine. Could the A/C comp. be tilting forward and losing tension causing them to squeal when its under load? TIA

Yep. You will probably have premature bearing failure on the compressor.
Maybe RogerH can help you ouy with some suggestions. |
