help my 318.
I have a 1967 belvedere with a 3 speed manual on the column and a 318 that is really tired. I know the heads would need totally reworked so I thouhgt about getting some swirl port heads. what would I need to do to make them work. Would I need to modify something or are they just a bolt on. any other advise would be great. Thanks!!!

You can either use the 302 casting heads (1985-1990 swirl port) or the 308's ( non-swirl port, same years) as a bolt on (although I still suggest taking them in for cleaning and inspecting before installation). I would also suggest a double roller timing chain, timing cover from a 1970+ 318 for better water pump and cooling ( bolt on as well), Dynomax headers with dual exhaust, Edelbrock Performer intake and 600 cfm carb, and a mild cam. Also take a look at your rear gears and tire size. Adjustments may also be made there. What vehicle is this in, and for what purpose is it?? These are a bunch of suggestions that can be done at different segments as to not kill your wallet unless you have a lot better job than I do......

Pretty much what Ausydad said. I know a local junkyard that specializes in GM junk but also deals Mopar (and they don't really care about Mopars) and I bought 2 sets of '302 heads for 30 bucks a set. You can do it relatively affordably if you know what you want and have the patience to hunt for it.
