McMurray/Havoline to Ganassi....

Surely everyone knows by now that Chip Ganassi has hired Jamie McMurray to drive his third car in 2003. Havoline will be the sponsor, but no car number or crew chief was announced.........

I don't know about you but whoever heard of Jamie McMurray before this announcement? I trust Ganassi's judgement when it comes to talent but I also trust Ray Evernham's and look how Atwood has struggled. With Havoline/Texaco as a sponsor, money shouldn't be an issue but Winston Cup is so competitive. I expected him to go afte a veteran. Bobby Hamilton will probably be available, Ken Schrader, Jerry Nadeau . I know none of those guys is burning up the record books but they do have experience, or "sperience" as DW likes to say.

All of the drivers you mention are headed for retirement at about the same time.
With the way the Dodges are struggling with the rules changes and new tires, we may see the cars retiring with them!

Atwood got stuffed!! Period!!
He showed just as much potential as Mayfield, possibly more!
