Default Lockup trans woes revisited

Quick story. My sons 86 Gran Fury's trans lost second gear one day.3 speed with lockup(normally) beleive its a a-999...So we Had another trans rebuilt, had it exchanged by a competent shop, and new trans was so tight in reverse it would stall the car when engaged into reverse.1,2, drive was fine, just reverse seemed odd.Even shifted fine.2 weeks later, it wont come out of first, when in d position.Wont shift.REverse is still the same.Fudged up rebuild? pump not engaged properly?Any clues?

Unhappy trans trouble

Your problem is in the trans.
the insallation is not relavent in this case.
The rebiulder must have missed something.
If it were tourqe converter trouble it would show up in all gears
not just reverse.
hope this helps point you in the right direction.
