Block Strength
This is a stupid question but are the magnum blocks any stronger than the old blocks???

Ive heard theyre 5-7% alloy content(same as older LA's) although not from Chrysler........PRO.....

I've heard that sometimes the magnum blocks split right down the middle ... shhhh. don't tell anybody though... (yeah, I do think it was my fault, and I don't know what short of HP numbers I was pulling at 6000rpm when it let go, but i really don't think it was much over 550hp.)

Sonic Check
I have never sonic checked a magnum block, but I have checked Chrysler small blocks from early Polys to as late as an 85 casting and they all calibrate to almost the same frequency. This tells me that the Fe/Ni content has not changed over the years. One day I will get the chance to check a magnum block.
