1st 1/8th mile for me tonight...
This oughta get a few chuckles! My first time to an 1/8th mile track tonight (Kennedale, Tx.) and was asleep at the wheel for sure on first pass:
R/T ... 1.438 60' ... 2.083 330 ... 5.809 MPH ... 61.72 1/8 ... 8.848 MPH ... 79.58 2nd round everyone was rushed so I didn't get to heat 'em up 1st (even though I've always been told it doesn't help Radia T/A's) due to H.S. curfew due up for the kiddo's in 3 minutes and 2 sets of cars ahead of me. R/T ... .026 60' ... 2.238 330 ... 5.995 MPH ... 61.26 1/8 ... 9.039 MPH ... 79.77 I haven't a clue what that all translates to as far as hp or torque or what...3900# '74 Dart Sport 360 with 727 and 3.90 suregrip, 9.82 compression, Hughes 223/230 .504/.515 lift hydraulic, 2100 stall and 6-leaf rear springs with a bent shackle (rr) and hardly any spring bushings left on both rears! How did I do??? Ok, you can stop laughing at the R/T's now... 440cj |

wellll.....on pass one you could have used an egg timer for your reaction time.....LOL
On the second pass the chicken hadn't layed the egg yet...LOL Don't worry about the RT's you'll get it figured out... What I see here is you definatly had fun, and the car came home in one piece so it was a successful night of racing! |

I would say you did pretty well for your first time out You did a lot better than my buddy did his first time out. I don't know how this happened but he drives a front wheel drive car and somehow he managed to put the E-brake on after he staged, light turned green and he just sat and burned his tires for about 4 secs before he finally moved he ended up losing to a 17.3 second honda and the funny part is his car is in low 14s
Good run though |

Well Dan, you put me (215#) along with a full size spare, a 80# toolbox, a 10" subwoofer/amp, ps, pb, A/C, and a full tank of gas in a '74 Dart that starts out with 250# worth of front/rear bumpers and go hit the scale...ya get 3900#! Nice that it's a 51/49% distribution though. Anyone know what horsepower that works out to? 440cj

The front end weight is 1989lbs. The rear weight is 1911 lbs. That is really good weight balance. 50/50 would be even better but that is really hard to obtain. You weight balance is hard to beleive with a stock set-up.
