Setting M/T tire presure for drags
Anyone know what the best tire pressure to run in a set of M/T pro sportsman at the strip...had mine set at 24 psi and could not get traction...needed to lower them i guess but to what approx????....just a reminder i don't have bead locks....

I would start them tires out at 16. You should not need bead locks for yours. They have large stiff beads. I don't put bead locks on mine or screws thru the wheels. A trick I found from an old super stock racer from the early 70's was to dimple the inside edge of the wheel. Take a center punch while the tire is off and put 200 or so dimples in the edge that the tire sits on. This gives more grip to the wheel than screw would. Unless your running like 8 pounds or less. This has worked for me, I run my M/T Streets at 11 to 12. Standard trans with 3500 launches and never moved a tire on the wheel.
