later model /6 engines
i am pondering the universe and it came to mind that i need to know what year /6 motors will bolt up to my 64 auto trans. in case i find a good motor on the side of the road somewhere. 64 is running fine but the 74 duster /6 i drug home the other day has issues.

All Slants will bolt up to your case, but the '68 and up motors will need a spacer for the pilot on the converter. Pre-'68 converters had a smaller pilot on them than the later ones.

thanks dschumers for the info. i saw a /6 in the paper for 150 bucks in excellent condition but it didnt state what year. is this spacer available across the counter

There is a place in Oregon called Wildcat that sells them. If you go on www.slantsix.com and post looking for them, you will get the address and phone number. There are a lot of Slant guys up that way.
