Default my 68 satellite is running too hot

My engine (318) was rebuilt around 1500 miles ago.
With the rebuild the 4 core radiator was also recored.
Everything is new. Problem is, running around the city or a hot day makes my car run pretty hot - it gets up to around 210.
This was happening to the guy I bought the car off also.
I just installed a cam, intake and hedders, and it's warming up quicker now.
I had an electric fan installed with a manual switch that seem to help, but 210 is still too hot.
I was told a clutch fan might solve the problem, also I'm running with no shroud. Did 68 plymouth's come with a fan shroud? Even if they did, my nos radiator doesn't have the four holes around the corners to screw one on.
I wonder, even though it's been recored, if I should get a new radiator.
Any info. would be great.
Thanx

I do allot of sitting in traffic and a fan shrould and 180 thermostat are a must. I don't know if your thermo is the same as a 71 stock (192) but I run 180 and the temp gage never even reaches the warm up line all the way. Its great for gas mileage also. I live in NC so it gets pretty warm down here. I know my 71 has a fan shroud also a 318 that should bolt right up to a radiator of the same year. Shrouds are esential for long idle. Hope this helps.

ditch the electric

I was worried about the single row 318 rad in my 5th ave not having enogh capacity to cool the .060" over 360.
SO I had an electric fan (with built in shroud from a V6 Beretta) mounted on it thinking it would cool better.
When it got up to 220* going down the highway at 70mph. I decided to find an alternate cooling method.
I bought one of those Flex-a-Lite composite/plastic flex fans and bolted er up.
the car wont get over 180 now! and thats with NO shroud.
Yeah they suck a little HP and make a lot of noise, but they move MASSIVE amounts of air!

Hey 1 eye. Running an electric fan, you should not need a shroud. Then again, how big is your fan? Summit sells a twin electic fan setup for pretty cheap. My guess is in your water pump. I might be mistaken, but if you use the wrong impeller on your pump, your car will not cool properly because the impellars are turning in the wrong direction. God I hope the weed has'nt gotten to me yet. Hope this helps bro!!

Idea

One more thing you might want to try is Jet Hot coat those headers. It will definitly make a difference under your hood. Later..
