Default pulling motor questions..

I was wondering if I have to pull the 4 speed tranny out with the motor together or can I just leave it in the truck by unhooking the clutch fork or something? I need to get the motor rebuilt, but don't want to take the tranny out for any reason.

It's possible to leave it in there with the bell housing but it will be a pain in the ass to put back in. The splines should line up but the bell housing is supported by the engine and the front of the trans by the bell housing. You have to remember that the z bar is also supported by the bell housing and if you tilt it too far you could pop it off, etc. 6 to 1 half dozen to another!!

Good luck!
