Default constant output regulator

Has any one had problems over charging the battery with Mopar Performance constant output regulators? This would be on a street driven car. Thanks for any info.

I had one on my 1968 Dodge truck and never had a problem with it.
I think the regulator is fine for a car driven in warm and moderate weather, but (I think) it does not have the tempature compensation for really cold weather.

Not sure if it will become a problem but mine puts out about 14.5 to 15 volts which seems high. Havent had a problem yet but I will try another one as soon as I get one.

Default Nope!

No problems. I've been using mine for over 8 years without any problems. 14-15 volts is normal. I sure don't miss watching the alternator gauge go back and forth like a windshield wiper.

Quick Claims Adjuster!!!

As long as you don't go over 16 volts you should'nt cook the battery. Or so says the Haynes manual.

I think you are putting out a constant charge only when it is needed, when the battery is fully charged it drops to zero. The variable output regulator will vary the output between 11.5 to approx 15 volts really not much difference. I used one of the constant output regulators on my 440 Duster for several years without any problems.
