Which Carb to buy????????
I am asking for a recommendation for a carburetor or my street 440 (73 Charger). It will be a daily driver, might see a few trips to the track. Possible small NOS shot at a later date.
Here it is: 440 + .030 KB 237 9.5 9.8 Comp 488/491 230/236 @50 Comp Cams Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads 60189 Manifold 2600-2800 Stall converter 3.23 or 3.55 rear end (I have both gears) I am looking at the Edelbrock 750, Holly Street Avenger 770 or possibly a Demon. Any recommendation would be very helpful. I want to maintain good streetibility and low maintenance. Than |

Carb
I would go with the Edelbrock 750 or 800. I'm not a carb expert, just the opposite as a matter of fact. I recomend the EB because you can install it, have it adjusted ( works good right out of the box) and leave it. I have been running the current 750 EB on my 68 Chrysler 300 For about 10 years with no problems. It rerplaced the Holly that was nothing but problems.

If your going to be working on it yourself, purchase what you'll be comforable with.
The Edel/Carter is the easiest to work on. With that carb, you'll gain exp. with how things work. It is simple and easy to change back. Although you will give up a few top end ponys. The Holley and Speed demon are very similar. The BG carb is a bit better. Booth are a little harder to work on but will give best results when dailed in. |

That's why I recommend getting the speed demon from cuda. he will set the carb up based on all of the specs provided. There will be very little tunning that needs to be done, once it is installed. What little will need to be done, he will help you with.

For my vote, I have to agree with the Edelbrock 750 too, but no personal experience with the demon carbs.
